FAQ
When you lose your teeth your appearance changes, speech can be affected, and you may have to give up your favorite foods. Over time, ill-fitting dentures can slip, click, or fall out. As your dentist in Houston (77098), we’d like to help you avoid that with the revolutionary All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implant-supported dentures.
Dental implants are replacement tooth roots that are permanently anchored into your jaw to act as supports for a dental prosthetic. Using only 4 or 6 dental implants plus a denture allows us to avoid areas that otherwise might need bone grafting, which can save you months in healing time and offers a considerable financial savings too.
If you are one of the millions of Americans who have experienced multiple tooth loss, please consider the All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure. It is stable, performing just as your real teeth perform, comfortable, and beautiful. Patients feel as if their lives have been transformed, not only because of how their teeth look and function, but also because of how they have come to feel inside.
Invisalign® clear aligners are an innovative and discreet way to straighten your teeth. This orthodontic option lets you get a straighter, healthier smile without metal, train-track braces. As well as looking more attractive than tightly spaced, crooked, or gapped teeth, a straight smile is easier to clean and keep healthy.
If you’re looking for Invisalign or another type of clear aligner (we provide a range!), give us a call for a no-obligation consultation. We’ll look at your unique needs, determine if clear aligners fit into your lifestyle, and determine whether it’s the right choice for you. It’s that simple to get Invisalign in Houston (77098)! Dental Illusions provides same-day emergency dentistry! Call right away and we’ll help you through. Dental emergencies can be stressful – partly because of not knowing what to do. Here’s a quick cheat sheet to help until you can get in to see us.
Knocked-Out Tooth – Adults: Carefully handle the tooth by the crown (white enamel top) – never the root – and, if possible, gently rinse the root it under clean water – never scrub it. Try to put it back in its place and call us right away. If you can’t place it back in the socket, either put it next to your cheek or in a container of cold milk. Call us right away and bring the tooth to your appointment.
Knocked-Out Tooth – Children: If the socket is bleeding, have your child bite on a clean piece of gauze, fabric, or paper towel. Put the tooth in a container of milk and call us right away.
Toothache: Most toothaches are cause by decay or infection, so it’s important to come see us right away. If you have pain that comes and goes, know that it will never stay away … and it will quite possibly get worse. Call us, and first, we’ll get you out of pain. Then we’ll diagnose and treat the issue.
Chipped or Broken Tooth: In many cases we can save a broken tooth, so give us a call and we’ll get you back to smiling as quickly as possible. If you can find the piece that broke off, bring it to us when you come.
A heavily decayed or infected tooth requires immediate treatment, especially when you don’t want to lose your tooth. As a dentist in Houston (77098), we will remove the nerve and tooth pulp from the inside of your tooth, clean the tooth’s interior, and seal the tooth to keep bacteria out. When treated promptly, root canal treatment l can effectively save the tooth from extraction. Severe decay often results in needing a crown to restore strength, function, and appearance. If you require root canal therapy, we provide sedation to reduce dental fear or anxiety.
While symptoms vary significantly from one person to another, a few of the most common signs that you’ll need to see a dentist for root canal treatment include:
- Severe tooth pain, especially while chewing or when applying pressure to a tooth
- Darkening of the tooth
- Gum swelling and tenderness
- Acute sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures
- A feeling of heaviness beneath the tooth.
As your dentist in Houston (77098), at Dental Illusions our first goal is to get you – and keep you – out of pain. Call today and we’ll fit you right in!
